Shen is to be the Lord of House Shoal, a respectable House but still on the the come-up, yet to be noble. If he and his brother Shadius have anything to say about it, they will rise up soon! Shen has been taught by his mentor Former Marquis of House Mistmoor the proper ways to conduct oneself in the public eye.
