Character
Description
Lady Lorelei Scythe is introduced as the shy, gentle heiress to House Scythe and third in line to the throne of the Empire of Arma behind her cousins Desta and Veyrah. Lorelei, often referred to as 'Lore' by her elder brother Cassian Scythe, has trained her entire life to not only inherit House Scythe once her mother, the 'Radiant' Duchess Irabella Scythe, retires but also to train in the way her cousins do, should she ever have cause to ascend the throne.
Despite her royal obligations, Lorelei prefers to spend her time in service to the temple of Solstice and Stars as a cleric of that divinity, as well as frequently using her wealth to provide charitable services to the underprivileged of Arma, particularly for children. These activities have separated her from the social scenes of many nobles, and many view her as a pure, angelic figure.
Lorelei is, quite simply, a beautiful young woman - the very picture of nobility and genteel mannerisms. She stands at a medium height of 5'6. and looks very much like a renaissance statue--all soft curves and drained of color save for her eyes that might remind one of an aurora borealis. She has unmarked pale gray skin, white hair, and large fluffy white wings. To be in her presence is to feel the serene energy that she exudes into the spaces she enters. Many say she has a soothing effect on others simply by entering a room. Throughout the show, her personal style is shown as beautiful, colorful, yet quite modest compared to the popular styles of other nobles.
Storylines
Background

Lorelei is the first daughter of the 'Radiant' Duchess Irabella Scythe, sister to the Empress of Arma, and Duke Lucien Scythe, Irabella's former bodyguard and current master of the House Scythe security detail. Lorelei spent her young years dutifully studying, enjoying the warm and loving relationships she shared with her parents and older brother Cassian. The family has always been close-knit and their home was always full of laughter. The family's goal has always been to ensure Lorelei's happiness and comfort--which often led to sheltering the small heiress from the harsh realities of the world.
Many of her childhood adventures included persuading her family to allow her to take in a menagerie of animals--cats, dogs, horses, and more. She was often accompanied by a dire wolf she affectionately named Rainier, whom Lorelei designated as her 'personal guard'. Living amidst anything she could ever want for, encouraged to pursue any hobbies she wished, it became clear to her as a child that she was far more fortunate than others, which sparked a desire to help the people of Arma who didn't have the resources she had.
During this time, she found the temple of Solstice and Stars, and gravitated towards the work of a Cleric, devoting her time not only to her chosen divinity--who inhabited the calmest hours of the day--but also to provide for those less fortunate than herself. Hard-pressed to deny her, her parents gave her free reign to bring food, clothes, and other resources to help the underprivileged folk of Arma. As a teenager, Lorelei became well-loved by the common folk for her kindness and willingness to listen to others. It was through these activities that Lorelei found herself beyond the well-meaning shelter of her family.
Castleton Part 1
Lorelei is determined to perform her duties as the Scythe heiress to find a suitable match during her very first attendance to a Matching Season. Largely sheltered her entire life, she is nervous and unsure of herself at first, but Lorelei is a very perceptive and learned woman. At every turn, she learns of others' intentions to steer her efforts.
As she begins to quietly rebel to find her own way, she becomes entangled in the choice between doing what is expected and right, and what her heart desires.
When the dance floor opened up, killing several attendees, and violence erupted in the room--Lorelei focused on helping others, rescuing Naiyale from the floating platforms. Upon delivering her new 'friend' to solid ground at the top of the main staircase, she met Lord Xander Barachois by chance, above the din of the chaos. Seeing that he, too, focused on helping others and exhibited the powers granted by Solstice and Stars, she took it upon herself to write to him afterwards.
In the midst of letters being written, one of the Princes of Cerul--Elyan-- caught her eye by how he treated his valet with kindness and comraderie--seeing him as someone possibly similar to herself, but her letter to Elyan was re-routed by her crafty older brother to go instead to the eldest Prince of Cerul, Tristan.
Later, after several dates with Xander and true love blossoming between the two, she was invited to a ball by Prince Tristan. Lorelei had every intention of honoring his request and giving him a chance, not wanting to pin all of her hopes on a single candidate. Things went well, until Xander showed up to the ball, quite literally sweeping her off her feet. Despite the very public display and the scandal that would ensue, she gave in to her heart's desire, kissing Xander despite being on a date with another, and a Prince no less.
