Character
Description
Soar Claymore enters Castleton as the duteous first daughter of House Claymore of Arma, the twin to second born Anri Claymore. This title of heir was appointed only due to mere minutes between the birth of her and her sister. With their mother being the Spymaster for Arma and a father she barely knows, Soar and Anri spent their childhood entertaining and raising themselves.
With the title of eldest, Soar, unlike her sister, was to be molded to be the perfect spy. Not able to shirk the responsibility of a job destined to her by birthright, Soar is an intensely secretive individual. It is hard to say if any singular individual truly knows the person that hides behind a facade of respectability and class.
Soar stands at a respectable 5’7”, skin a light shade of pastel blue and platinum white hair she keeps cut just above her shoulders. Her honey brown eyes are kept soft, a similarly soft smile typically gracing her visage. If one dares to look deeper (most rarely do) her gaze is ever shifting and analytical, guard rarely dropping.
Storylines
Background

Ever the dutiful daughter, Soar spent her childhood being molded into the "perfect little spy" to one day take on the mantle of Spymaster to Arma, the Lady Inquistor and head of the Catval. A title kept on a strictly need to know basis with Soar only holding the title of a noble lady and nothing more. While her younger sister spent time sneaking out and exploring their hometown, Soar remained isolated at home learning the tools of the trade. Having the adverse effect of closing off Soar emotionally, duty and a sense of protection over Anri that overrid most else in her life. With the matching season at the Castle upon her Soar becomes resolute in her goal to make sure she leaves the Castle alive with her sister and cousin, Amina Monsoon, and that both are taken care of.
Castleton Part 1

The Claymore family opens with Anri and Soar sharing a breakfast with one another. Anri, the younger of the twins, heavily concerns herself with Soar's wellbeing. During this, a knock is heard at the door marking the arrival of their cousin, Lady Amina and her mother, who have moved back to Arma to reestablish themselves in the kingdom in the wake of her fathers death.
As both families make their way to the Castle via airship, the Claymore family established themselves casually with the Glaives, Troyllus, and his daughter Skylark, with Soar entertaining the young girl with light music and magics as Anri supported her sisters endeavors. Upon arriving at the Castle the twins' respectable entrance is overshadowed by Aminas entrance that quickly followed theirs. In an attempt to help out Soar, Anri tries and fails to direct the tons attention to Soar. Rather than elevating her image to the ton, Anri attracts the ire of the ton for her attempt to elevate her sister's appearance to the crowd.
The Claymore twins make a head turning entrance into the inaugural ball of the season, quickly splitting ways to chat with potential matches on the floor. Soar engages in conversation and a dance with Prince Elyan, second born prince of Cerul, before chaos erupts on the floor. Deciding it's better to ally with the prince then gain an unnecessary enemy, the two stick together in the fray and make it out alive and well. When the chaos comes to an end Soar quickly finds Amina and when unable to spot her twin, the two leave to the Claymore estate.
Unbeknownst to Soar and Amina, Anri had taken an injured Troyllus Gladius and his daughter Skylark into their estate to shelter them from any fallout that occurred in the ballroom the night prior. The scandal this could potentially create causes a rift between the twins as Anri decides to declare with Troyllus to avoid the ire of the ton, much to the dissatisfaction of Soar.
Following the departure of Anri from the Claymore estate, Soar and Amina are left to their own devices. There are attempts from Soar to bond with Amina to make up for the guilt she feels over the rift within the household. Despite the turmoil within her own walls, Soar throws herself into work and keeps up public image by going on outings with prospective matches. These outings all unchaperoned much to the begrudgement of Soar due to the further scandal such actions could draw.
After a failed date with Cassian Scythe, ending in an offer of help rather than romance, Soar sets her sights back to the second prince of Cerul. Forming a connection with Elyan, first based in convenience, but later an air of affection growing between the pair.
Attending the Masquerade with Amina, Soar spends the party drinking the provided alcohol and avoiding her sister who is also in attendance. When the party ends in a decree of non violence throughout the Castle for all, Soar heads home with Amina to figure out what this means for House Claymore.
Castleton Part 2

Post Decree
Following the masquerade, Soar receives a missive from Prince Elyan requesting an audience at his estate. Arriving at the house, Soar finds it crowded with several individuals from the ton, one of which being Ardena Mace, a baroness also hailing from Arma. At the Torrent estate she is asked to help the prince discover who is attempting to poison Miles Kingsbrook, a Duke and close personal friend to the King of Cerul. Soar agrees to get to the bottom of this plot and upon leaving has a discussion with Ardena about also helping her and her family after the return of a supposed pirate Ardena had cut down at the inaugural ball. Not only promising help but revealing to the baroness that she is a spy for their nation, a fact she hasn't shared with anyone outside her family who didn't already know.
What follows for Soar is being brought into a secret council within Armas royals that was created by Desta following the death of the empress, news hidden from the ton at large. Tier privately asks Soar to keep an eye out for information on the Nameless Blades while Soar asks in return for Tier's help in keeping Prince Gideon of Cerul and Veyrah Armadeum together, stating it's a matter of preventing war between the nations. Finding her loyalty for Arma to not be the strongest, she shares some information received within this council with not only Prince Elyan, but Ardena as well.
After Elyan is seen with Ardena in a compromising situation in the Castle's libraries, Ardena and Soar meet at the ice cream parlor for a friendly chat and flirty conversation, finding they have much in common, both realizing that feelings are blossoming between not only themselves and Elyan but each other.
Soar then attends Fallyn's Garden Party with Tier Armadeum as her date, imparting knowledge to the royal about the Nameless Blades and Ben's connection to the group is revealed to her. Upon arriving at the party, Tier leaves Soars' side to chase after Millie Mace. Minutes later she is approached by Ardena Mace to talk about their situation with Elyan. Ardena leads Soar to a private section of the garden to further discuss beyond the eyes of the ton. Soar breaks and asked to be kissed by Ardena and she obliges with a heated kiss. This kiss between the two is caught by the demigod of Gluttony, the two are offered a deal by the temptress to help whatever situation they both have with Prince Elyan. With Gluttony leaving the two women in the garden to ponder this deal, Soar further reveals to Ardena her confusion and frustration over her expectations for the Castle and confirms she has grown fond of both Ardena and Elyan.
Days later, Soar and Elyan meet at his estate's study to further look into the poisoning attempts made against the Duke of Kingsbrook. The days of work having not revealed any new information on a culprit. Frustrated with no changes in the search, Soar exhausted and frustrated goes to get some rest while Elyan continues to look into things. After a while, Elyan checks on Soar, asleep on the study's couch. Elyan contemplates his confusing feelings for both Soar and Ardena and when he goes to leave Soar's side at the couch, Soar, who is no longer resting, grabs him before he can move any further. In a moment of exhausted honesty, she tells Elyan that it's okay to feel and pulls Elyan down for an impassioned kiss. Soar finally willing to admit to herself that Elyan AND Ardena have captured her attention.
Upon leaving the Torrent estate, Soar finds herself at Elysium, a club known for its debaucherous nature, to seek out Gluttony. After a sexually charged interaction with the demigod, Soar reveals her desire to match with both Elyan and Ardena, stating that “wanting” is new to her. Soar asks for a shot at attempting to find something “real”, Gluttony asks her to prove it and says she will help her have fun. Soar shares with Gluttony that she is willing to fight to have both Elyan and Ardena, so a pact is created in blood after Gluttony bites Soar's wrist.
At the Cloud Ball, Soar arrives as Prince Elyans' date and they take the floor in a dazzling display. Ardena Mace quickly joins them on the dance floor and the three publicly waltz in front of the entire ton. When Elyan and Ardena break from the dance, Soar is approached by Lyre Larke, another warlock of Gluttony. Lyre and Soar discuss their relationship with Gluttony, Lyre shares that Soar should embrace this newfound power, and a tentative friendship between them is born. With the encouragement of Lyre, Soar seeks out Elyan and Ardena to discuss their relationship. When Elyan shows resistance to attempting to continue the season together, Soar reaches out to Gluttony for help. Given the chance to sway the indulgence of one of her partners, Soar picks Elyan to influence. In doing so, Soar unknowingly hardens Elyan to the idea of being with her and Ardena. As this conversation/argument occurs, it is interrupted by the arrival of the King of Cerul, Elyans' father.
After the Cloud Ball, Soar and her sister Anri, are called back to the Arma secret council due to the outburst between Tier and Benjamin in front of the entire ton. The secret of the dead empress is out and Tier is nowhere to be found. Soar, after being berated via the Message spell by Anri for being “distracted”, goes to find Tier in the city. After hours of searching to no avail, she arrives exhausted at her estate only to find Tier waiting for her in her room. Tier states he had nowhere else to go after his outburst, and Soar felt like the only safe option as he doesn't know many others he could turn to in this city. In her tired state, Soar opens up to Tier about the stresses of the Castle and the events unfolding in the season. Feeling hopeless but wanting to keep herself in the game for a potential future with Elyan and Ardena, Soar asks Tier to declare with her. Tier wants to stick around for Millie and his brother, and Soar chooses this so her partners don't have to “pick”. They end the night in each other's arms (platonically) as they think about what the future holds in the coming weeks.
The very next morning, Soar accompanies Princess Veyrah to the Torrent estate for her breakfast with the King of Cerul as she has declared with Prince Gideon. Soar sits through “the worst breakfast of her life” as she watches the Torrent family squabble. As Gideon marches out with Princess Veyrah, Soar is escorted to the door by Prince Elyan. Elyan takes Soar to the side and kisses her while they lament the zealotry of the King and his desire to be with her AND Ardena. Before she leaves, Soar sadly informs Elyan to declare with Ardena as she has declared with Tier the night prior. Soar tells Elyan to win for the chance at a future where the three of them can be together. Soar says that she does not love Elyan but that she wants a chance to and sees how it could be easy. Soar leaves the estate saying I’ll miss you and prepares for her first trial with Tier.
The Trials
Soar later watches the death of Naeric Mace with Tier on the video feeds in the Claymore estate. The horrid spectacle is interrupted by the distribution of gossip sheets throughout the entire ton. Soar and Tier spend hours trying to collect as many as they can and destroy them to try and hinder the panic such salacious rumours could bring on to a Castle already in turmoil.
The day of her trial with Tier, the man now staying in the Claymore estate, they find a woman attempting to break in. Not having time to deal with whoever she is before their trial, they subdue her and stash her in the estate's basement to deal with upon their trial's completion. Soar and Tiers trial is paired up with two other declared pairs, Anri Claymore and Troyllus Gladius, Cassian Scythe and Florence. The trial is a giant climbing tower with movable climbing pegs that make it more precarious to ascend. The more you move the pegs, the more unstable the climbing base becomes. Not wanting to waste time, Soar bolts towards the tower at the start of the trial. Tier and Soar quickly ascending and working in tandem, gaining the lead as well as the audience's approval with a little bit of flirting. When she feels the other declared pairs approaching, Soar uses the power given to her from Gluttony to magically persuade them all to back off, the effect only working on Cassian. Upon feeling magic come from Soar, Anri verbally lashes out about their mother being in town. Soar eventually loses her grip when climbing the tower and falls into a pit below. Seemingly out of the game at first, Soar is moved to a small box that gives her the ability to manipulate the tower. She could help or hinder those climbing by moving around pegs by clicking buttons within the box. Not able to see who she is helping or how the trial is going, Soar remains in this box until the completion of the trial.
When Tier gets to the top of the tower, effectively winning the game for the pair, Cassian, within a box of his own, having fallen from the tower as well, casts a fireball to topple the tower as a message to the ton over his disapproval of the matching season. Unknowingly to Cassian and Soar within their boxes, the toppling of the tower causes Tier at the top to hurtle to the ground. Upon reentering the stadium, Soar and Cassian find Tier being held by Anri and Troyllus as they try and heal the broken Prince. Soar rushes to his side, casting a healing word, telling him he is not allowed to leave her yet and that she needs him. While holding Tier, the others berate Cassian for his brash actions. Cassian apologizes to both Soar and Tier and reaches out to the divine and trades his own life for Tier's. Soar watches as Tier gains the wings that Cassian carried in this trade.
When the trial completes, Anri and Soar head off to their mother's apartment in the Castle, Anri having learned that their mother had been in the city for a week. The meeting is tense as their mother, Dame Asmi Claymore, states her disappointment in the actions of her children during the season. Soar tells Anri to play dumb when their mother begins to further press on the sisters for information. This meeting is brief and rattling for the twins but Soar quickly returns to her estate to check on a now grieving Tier and as well as the intruder stashed in the basement.
After a brief chat with Tier about the death of Cassian, his newfound wings, and lamenting the unfairness of the season, they head down to interrogate this mystery woman, The woman turns out to be the wife of Benjamin Armadeum, Rowan, a supposed Nameless Blade member and mother of his child. In their questioning, it is revealed she is but a druid who was converted into a scapegoat for the real crimes of Soar's mother. Dame Claymore having spent her tenure as Lady Inquisitor of the Catval turning the organization into her weapon rather than that of the nation. Furthermore, Rowan reveals that it was Dame Claymore who effectively ordered the assassination of the duchess. Soar now understands why she could never find information in her search, as her mother was actively getting in her way. The three quickly resolve to put an end to the schemes of Asmi Claymore and set off to do so. Soar apologizes to Tier for the actions her mother had taken leading to the death of his own.
Using Rowan as bait, they lure out Dame Claymore and confront her. Defiant till the end, she refuses to admit to her crimes. Dame Claymore verbally lambasts her, saying Anri should have been heir. Soar tells the Dame that she is not her mother and begins her attack. After a fight that leaves Soar bloody and bruised, Tier's daggers dealing the final blow to the Dame and a subsequent slap from Soar to Tier to break him from one final spell, the two lick their wounds and work to reunite Rowan with Benjamin.
Castle Fall
When the Gods descend and begin looking for Armadeums, Soar runs with Tier to the Lilac Keep to find his family. Upon arriving, they cannot find them as Tier remembers that both his sisters have trials on that day. Before they can make a run from the keep, Elyan, Ardena, Amina, and Lorelai race into the keep searching for Soar. Amina scolds Soar for running into danger and only thinking about others rather than herself, they are interrupted by Lorelai saying there is no time for arguments.
As the group tries to decide what actions to take next, the god Fire and Forge launches a flaming boulder into the keep, hitting Amina. With Amina injured, Elyan offers to stay with her while the rest of the group makes a break for it. Soar tells Elyan that if Amina dies she will kill him, and Ardena tells him if he dies she will also kill him, to which Soar agrees. They break off and make for the edge of the castle where they see Eldron has sent ships to save those they can from the Gods ravaged city.
As Elyan joins the group with an injured Amina, he once again takes off to distract the god and antagonizing it in the process. Lorelai petitions Ardena and Soar to board the Eldronese ships as citizens of Arma to help her. Both Ardena and Soar decline the request to flee for the sake of Arma, Soar claiming no real allegiance to the nation. Exasperated Soar looks towards Ardena, saying she is unable to save both her partners in their self sacrifice. Ardena says that she does not have to and to let her do the saving, Soar doubts she can survive the ire of a god. Conflicted but desperate, Soar uses her magic to convince an injured Amina to stay on the Eldronese ship and get to safety, telling her to return to her mother. Soar then runs with Ardena towards Elyan and Tier, who had also run off to distract the gods, finding the two in a standoff with two gods now. Elyan is posed a question by one of the gods, “them or him”, meaning Ardena and Soar or Tier, an ultimatum. In choosing “them”, Soar, Ardena, and Elyan watch as this god pounces on Tier and seemingly devours him.
With Tier gone, the three have no time to settle as aether/magic is removed from the world. Soar and Elyan feeling a shift within the magic they carry, Elyan, in trying to shape water, sees it falter. Ardena sensing an emotional change within Elyan due to his actions leading to the vanishing of Tier, rips one of her tusks off and tells him to live for her instead, link his life to hers. The trio then run to the Torrent estate, which has been turned into a quasi stronghold by Tristan Torrent and Ursula Mace. As Elyan and Ardena reunite with their siblings, Soar, desperate to not meet her demise, calls out to Gluttony. Gluttony gleefully responds that she has a way to escape with Lyre but that she must make haste. Soar asks if anybody else can be saved and Gluttony tells her to bring anyone who would be okay with seeing the devastation that is to come. Soar pleads to the throuple that she has a way out and that she will not let their self sacrifice be her end. Elyan and Ardena are delighted that Soar has found a possible escape, with Elyan alerting the stronghold that he has a way out. Soar is doubtful of the size of the ship but begrudgingly leads this now rather large group towards the financial district where Gluttony said her ship was docked.
In arriving at the ship, it looks like its going to be a tight fit, with Gluttony stating to Elyan she will throw people off if she needs to. Soar tells Elyan she will not stop Gluttony if she does so, and Elyan says he will jump first, earning a glare from both his partners. As the group boards this ship, Elyan uses the last of his magical items to boost its engine and get them off the Castle, in doing so permanently wounding Ardena who had linked her life to his prior. Soar noticing the wound appearing on Ardena. Elyan directs Gluttony to send them out to sea as it is their safest bet to survive the devastation the city falling to the ground will cause. As magic continues to seep from the world, the ship starts to plummet. Gluttony pulls a dagger out and protectively stands in front of Soar and Lyre, saying that she protects her own. Before anyone has to be thrown off to save the others, the Cerul princes craft a parachute-like device that coasts the ship safely into the ocean. The survivors on the ship watch as Cerulite ships surround them, as Cerulite was warned to get as many out to sea. They then watch as the city crashes down and floods Cerul and the hills of Arma, Eldron remaining mostly unscathed as they had built a flood barrier to save their nation.
As the survivors collect themselves, Elyan shares his first drink ever with Soar and Ardena. Soar finding that the alcohol now has an effect with her warlock pact with Gluttony gone now that magic has left this world.
Epilouge
As the nations rebuild, Soar takes on the mantle of Dame Claymore, participating in efforts of rebuilding. She joins Gluttony and Lyre as they travel the world and clean up the Catval and all the errors committed by the former Dame Claymore. Soar offers her estate to Gluttony and Lyre to reside in, in so doing, the coven started by Gluttony and Lyre being named the Claymore Coven, the now successor group, the dismantled Catval. The group becoming known for taking on the evils of this new world, and that is constantly recruiting and also turning those who are willing.
Soar travels with a dire herding dog named Hazelnut, given to her by her wife Ardena, who resides in Cerul with their husband Elyan, the two staying there in support of Tristan and Usula who know lead the nation. Soar returns to Cerul when she can during her time cleaning up the nations of perceived threats, taking a more hands-on approach to the clean up of the nations.
Eventually Soar settles down for a few years and has twins named Tier and Miles with Elyan. Ardena also has a few children with Elyan, with the two Arma natives making sure the children are raised both in Cerul and Arma as they are to only inherit their Arma titles. Soon after this, Soar fully joins the Claymore Coven and becomes a dhampir, turning her children as well if they so desire. She is a mother, she is a leader, she is a protector, and she finds herself.
