Character
Description
Gilgamesh Von March is a striking figure of defiance and duty, the rebellious only son of Arma’s prestigious House Von March. Standing 5'10" with ashen-grey skin, fiery orange eyes, and flame-streaked black hair slicked back, he is every inch the warrior his country demands. Draped in the red, black, and gold of his house, his body is a weapon honed by years of training, and his chiseled features seem carved by the very discipline that rules his homeland. Yet beneath the hardened exterior lies a sharp, sarcastic wit and a heart yearning for connection, shaped by a childhood spent raising his younger sister in the absence of their commanding mother. Gifted with the rare ability to manifest an echo and a natural talent for combat, Gil is destined to lead, but he dreams of breaking free from the constraints of tradition to find love and purpose on his own terms.
Storylines
Background

As the only son of House Von March, his upbringing was marked by high expectations and an unavoidable sense of duty. His mother, a revered general and one of Arma’s head military leaders, was a distant figure in his life. She spent more time leading armies than at home, her presence felt more through meticulously chosen gifts and formal letters than through maternal warmth.
With his father absent from the picture, the role of family fell heavily on Gilgamesh and his younger sister, Inara. The siblings were each other’s anchor, forging a bond of shared resilience as they navigated a childhood overseen by servants and duty. From an early age, Gil’s natural affinity for combat became apparent. His ability to manifest an echo—a shadowy duplicate of himself—emerged long before others his age had mastered their first sword strike. This gift, coupled with his relentless training, all but cemented his destiny as the future “Hyarch” of the Von March military.
Yet while the martial traditions of Arma shaped his body and skills, Gil’s heart and mind were often elsewhere. He escaped into stories, devouring epics of heroes and romances in the quiet moments stolen between rigorous drills. These tales of love and connection, untainted by politics and duty, planted the seeds of rebellion in his soul. The Matching Season, a tradition where unions were forged for alliances rather than affection, became the symbol of all he detested. To Gil, love was not a contract; it was a force to be found, earned, and cherished.
Castleton Part 1

At the behest of his mother, Gilgamesh Von March and his sister, Inara, departed their homeland to attend the infamous Marching Season, a time of alliances forged through politics, power, and marriage. For six months prior, Gil had been secretly entangled in a dangerous affair with Kestrel Glaive, a married woman of ruthless ambition and influence. Her allure was as intoxicating as it was perilous, and their clandestine relationship added a volatile undercurrent to Gil’s already rebellious nature.
The season's opening ball was a spectacle of grandeur and intrigue, culminating in a game of dragon chess where unmatched participants found themselves in combat as the ballroom floor gave way. Amid the chaos, Gil saw an opportunity to strike a personal blow by targeting Troyllus, Kestrel’s brother. Their battle was fierce, and Gil came close to killing Troyllus before being thwarted by a warrior named Anri Claymore. Anri’s intervention sent Gil plummeting into the pit, humiliated but alive.
Bruised but undeterred, Gil dragged himself to Kestrel’s home that night, only to overhear a conversation between Kestrel and her mother-in-law, Estella. They coldly discussed Gil’s failure and a new plan to eliminate Brezza, Kestrel’s husband. When Brezza overheard their plotting, he fled in desperation. With no hesitation, Kestrel turned to Gil and commanded him to hunt down and kill Brezza—a test of his loyalty and a deeper descent into her manipulative web.
Gil’s bold defiance of tradition escalated further when he accepted a duel from Count Nubaron of Cerul. The entire nation of Cerul stood behind the Count, leaving Gil isolated save for his steadfast sister, Inara. Before the gathered nobility and onlookers, Gil fought valiantly, ultimately killing the Count in a grueling battle. However, his victory was overshadowed by his brazen denunciation of the Matching Season. His public rebellion against the gods and demi-gods invoked the wrath of Draxien, the demi-god of discipline, who struck him down for his blasphemy. Broken and humbled, Gil was revived only to apologize before slinking back to his quarters, wounded in body and spirit, to plot his next move in this unforgiving game of power and survival.
Castleton Part 2

The fallout from his duel with Count Nubaron left Gilgamesh Von March heavily scarred, both physically and emotionally. As he recuperated in solitude, Kestrel Glaive came to him under the cover of night, her tone seductive and sharp. She attempted to convince that Gil to help salvage her reputation and their shared schemes, oblivious to the toll her ambitions had taken on him. For Gil, the veil of her charm was finally lifted—he saw himself not as her partner, but as a pawn in her ruthless game. Their argument was a storm of fury and frustration, culminating in Gil’s decision to end their affair, shattering the bond that had driven him to the brink.
No sooner had Kestrel stormed away than an unexpected visitor appeared: a kind, unassuming gentleman. He spoke with clarity and conviction, affirming Gil’s denunciation of the Matching Season and its corruption. The man revealed himself to be a demi-god, though he withheld his name, and offered Gil power to pursue his rebellious vision. The terms were simple—Gil would owe him a favor, to be called upon at some unknown time. Desperate for a way to fight back against the forces that controlled his life, Gil accepted, his fiery resolve burning brighter than ever.
Meanwhile, Gil’s loyal attendant and confidant, Silas, sought to repair the tattered reputation of House Von March. In a bid to stabilize Gil’s standing, Silas arranged a match with Lyre Lark, a woman of charm and cunning. The partnership was not one of love but of strategy. Gil and Lyre conspired to present themselves as the perfect couple, using their public declarations of affection and devotion to maneuver through the political landscape of the Matching Season. Together, they crafted a facade of passion and unity, plotting to position themselves as key players while hiding their true intentions in plain sight.
Armed with newfound divine power, an unlikely ally in Lyre, and a growing determination to dismantle the corrupt traditions of Arma, Gilgamesh continued his march forward, the scars of his past fueling his resolve for the battles to come.
